The Círculo de Puerto Rico, Inc. (CPRI) is proud to announce the creation of the Education Grants and Scholarships Fund and the continued awarding of the Norma M. Holmes Educational Grant to support post-graduate psychology students at Virginia Tech.

Established in 2021 in honor of Ms. Norma M. Holmes, a dedicated and long-standing member of CPRI and a bilingual psychotherapist who passed away on May 24, 2021. With over 25 years of clinical experience and degrees from the University of Puerto Rico, Carlos Albizu University, The Fielding University, and Virginia Tech, Ms. Holmes made significant contributions to the mental health field, particularly in the treatment of individuals, couples, families, and severe mental health disorders.

In collaboration with Virginia Tech’s Department of Psychology, CPRI awarded $5,000 grants to doctoral candidates in 2022 and 2023, with plans to continue supporting future candidates pursuing a doctoral degree in psychology.

As David Holmes, Norma’s husband, shared:
