Support for Federal Employees Affected by the Government Shutdown

CPRI,

Oct 24, 2025

During these challenging times, as many federal employees have been required to suspend their work or, in some cases, have been separated from their positions due to the government shutdown, Círculo de Puerto Rico, Inc. wishes to express its solidarity and support. We understand that this situation brings uncertainty and concern to hundreds of families across the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. For this reason, we want to remind everyone that there are resources and organizations ready to offer practical and timely assistance to those facing these difficult circumstances.

Below is a list of organizations providing various types of assistance, from food support and unemployment benefits to interest-free loans and emergency financial help. When you call any of these programs, mention that you are a federal employee facing a furlough or work reduction — it may help them prioritize or point you to a fund specifically for that category.
